Choose Buenos Aires tours by the experience

Buenos Aires tours can introduce the city, organise an evening or take you beyond the capital. Those are different uses of your time: a guided city outing provides an introduction, a show centres on a performance, and a tasting makes the meal the activity. Start with that distinction before comparing prices. Transport, food and admission can change between options within a single product.

For a first city overview, the guided highlights outing lasts three to five hours and includes a local guide and air-conditioned vehicle. Hotel transport from the listed city districts and street food depend on the chosen option. Museum, gallery and theatre admission costs extra. That makes it useful for orientation, with focused visits arranged separately. If you prefer a dedicated vehicle and guide, see our Buenos Aires private tours comparison.

City experiences and excursions

The city tour suits an introduction with a local guide. For a longer excursion, Colonia includes ferry tickets and a guided city visit.

Tango admission or an evening with dinner

The theatre-style tango option starts at Florida 165 in Galería Güemes. Admission is included; two drinks or a three-course dinner with unlimited drinks belong to the respective selected package. Transport is extra. The full experience has an option-dependent duration, so a show booking and a dinner booking should occupy different spaces in your evening plan.

Choose show admission when you would rather eat elsewhere and focus on the performance. Choose the dinner package when you want the meal and entertainment together. A stage performance and a milonga are different activities: the former is for watching, while the latter is a social dance event. Our tango shows guide explains those choices in more detail, including packages with an optional lesson.

A seated tasting or a walking food tour

The nine-course meat tasting starts at Gorriti 3780 and lasts two hours. Still and sparkling water and a welcome cocktail are included. Further alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and hotel transport cost extra. Its appeal is a substantial tasting menu in one setting, rather than moving between addresses. Allow the meal to be the main event instead of fitting another dinner around it.

The guided food walk has a different rhythm: three and a half hours with a local guide, visits to at least four establishments and at least eight tastings of Argentine cuisine. Vegetarian and gluten-free menus are available when requested at booking. Its meeting instructions specify a restaurant corner and the orange door. This suits visitors who want the movement and conversation of a walk alongside the tastings. Compare the broader formats on our food tours page.

Colonia and the difference a border makes

The Colonia del Sacramento package is a twelve-hour excursion with ferry tickets, a professional guide, a city tour and hotel pickup and drop-off. Choose it when you want transport and a guided visit together, and keep the whole day available. Travel-document requirements depend on nationality; consult the relevant government entry information for Uruguay and your return to Argentina.

Do not treat the ferry ticket as the only practical decision. The combination of hotel transport, crossing and guided programme determines the shape of the day. Our Colonia day-trip guide explains this destination separately. For delta and estancia alternatives, the day trips from Buenos Aires comparison keeps the focus on journeys outside the city.

Iguazú from Buenos Aires

The Iguazú excursion combines a private guide in Iguazú, national park admission, the Great Adventure boat tour and lunch. Drinks and dessert are extra. Economy flights are included only when the flight option is selected; the lower-priced option without flights is a different purchase. Match the option to where your journey begins: Buenos Aires hotel collection or the Iguazú airport meeting arrangement.

The published duration spans six to fourteen hours according to the option. This is a substantial excursion with different travel logistics from a city tour, so consider whether it belongs in a longer itinerary. Read about Iguazú Falls for destination planning. The presence of a private guide in Iguazú describes the guiding there; it should not be read as an exclusive aircraft or an entirely private journey from Buenos Aires.

Questions about choosing a tour

Is dinner included with every tango ticket?

Dinner belongs to the dinner option. The theatre ticket also has a drinks option; choose the package that matches how you want to spend the evening. Transport is extra for this product.

Does the meat tasting include wine throughout?

The nine-course meat tasting includes water and a welcome cocktail. Additional alcoholic drinks and soft drinks cost extra, so allow for those separately if you want them.

Are flights included in the Iguazú excursion?

Economy flight tickets belong to the flight-inclusive option. An option without flights is also offered, so compare the actual package rather than applying one starting price to both.
